our founder began working with glass in 2005. After experimenting with a variety of different types of glasses and forming techniques, Chris began to focus primarily on lampworking with borosilicate glass. He has continued to expand his engineering and technical skills, while working with a variety of professional, scientific, and artistic glassblowers.

Chris was first introduced to scientific glassblowing in 2015 during a work-study program at University of wisconsin-Madison. After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.S. in chemistry, Chris worked as a scientific glassblowing technician at Millipore Sigma in Milwaukee, WI until 2017.

Big bang slides was founded in 2019 and has been dedicated to creating and manufacturing the best fitting, most consistent guitar slides on the market.
