There are a lot of factors to consider when choosing a slide. However nothing is as important as Finding the right fit. The feel and sound characteristics play an important for finding the right slide for you. The style of slide guitar you are playing can also play a huge roll in what slide ultimately works best for you. Here are a few major factors to consider.
Slide weight
slide weight is one of the most important factors that determines the tone of your music. For example, a very heavy slide will dampen the attack of notes higher on the fret board, while a thiner slide will loose sustain and sound very bright and tinny. Depending on your particular style of play, a heavy slide will add to the playability by allowing you to depress the strings more easily, taking some of the work away from you finger. Slide Fit
Slide fit is the important factors when choosing a slide. Not only do you have to consider which finger you will be playing with, but also the spot on your finger that you would like the slide to sit. For example, some people like the slides to cover their whole finger, as well as the fret board, while other more traditional blues guitarist, prefer the slide to sit above the knuckle.
Slide Length

Material

Every one of our slides has a unique material composition, and thus, will produce unique tones. For example, some of the colors have air bubble inclusion throughout the interior of the material. This reduces the density and creates a warmer tone, more characteristic of a ceramic slide. Some of our metallic slides have very high heavy metal content, and produce sharper tones more charactetic of traditional metal slides.
