Big Bang Slides are All handmade in the USA by skilled artisans. All of our glass is carefully selected and then hand cut, beveled, and polished to produce the finest quality, borosilicate glass guitar slides. 

            Due to the variations in the material properties of each slide, each color has the ability to produce unique sounds with an individual sonic profile. Variation in the metal content in each slide can significantly impact the material’s coefficient of expansion acoustic properties. This creates slides capable of producing a spectrum of sounds. Higher, heavy metal content slides create sounds more characteristic of traditional metal slides, and “softer” less dense slides, create sounds mores characteristic of traditional ceramic. 

            Our slides are available in close to 100 stock colors, nearly every ring size, and custom colors and patterns are able to be created upon request. We also offer a large selection of slides with unique optical properties, which can be incorporated into stage shows in a variety of ways. For example, some of our slides are UV/black light reactive, and others will shift color in daylight, when exposed to light from common CFL bulbs. With new and innovative colors constantly being developed, the possibilities for an artist to create and explore unique, sound and lighting arrays, are endless.

Every slide is unique, the specific metal content may vary slightly from batch to batch, and some colors may only be available in limited quantities and sizes.
